HAY UNA SERPIENTE EN MI BOTA
Santiago Paredes's work is the union of several dissimilar yet complementary universes, revolving around the cult and utilitarian condition of everyday objects. His scenes are composed of multiple references, appropriations, and simulations in a dialogue with the history of images.
His diverse interests - Persian miniatures, Japanese prints, high fashion, and contemporary pop culture - create a visual universe tinged with doubt - between what is and what it represents. With a gesture to bring everything to the same plane of importance where there are no hierarchies.
Each element that composes the exhibition acts as a minimal expression of meaning, accentuating the singular beauty of each object to enhance the ability to see new forms.
